Prescription (Rx) & Over-the-Counter (OTC) Drug Abuse

Over the past several years, Irvine has seen an increase among teens who are abusing Rx and OTC drugs to get high. There are many contributing factors to this local and national problem including ease of access and the perception that these drugs are safer to use. Unfortunately, many young people are ending up in the emergency room and some have died. Preventing these tragedies from occurring is a priority among our partners.
